Aluminum Industry Abstracts (AIA), formerly World Aluminum Abstracts (WAA), provides coverage of the world's technical literature on aluminum, production processes, products, applications, and business developments. Their database contains over 3,000 periodicals, conference proceedings, technical reports, trade journal/newsletter items, patents, books, and press releases. Their major areas of coverage include the aluminum industry, aluminum intermetallics, business information, end uses of aluminum, engineering properties and tests, extractive metallurgy, melting/casting/foundry, metalworking/fabrication/finishing, ores, extraction of alumina and aluminum, patents, physical and mechanical metallurgy, and quality control/testing. The database's coverage (as shown above) is approximately 1972 - current, though the oldest record in the database has a publication date of 1934; about 50% of its records have publication dates of 1988 or later. The database is updated once a month, with approximately 10,000 new records are added per year and a total of over 410,000 records so far.

The ASM Alloy Phase Diagram Database allows users to explore, search and view more than 36,500 binary and ternary phase diagrams and associated phase data for more than 6200 systems.

Compendex Archive is a bibliographic database of engineering research which contains over 1.7 million references and abstracts taken from over 6,000 scholarly journals, trade magazines, conference proceedings and technical papers. The subjects covered by this database include nuclear technology, transportation, chemical and process engineering, light and optical technology, agricultural engineering and food technology, data processing, applied physics, electronics and communications, control, civil, mechanical, materials, petroleum, aerospace and automotive engineering as well as narrower subtopics within all these and other major engineering fields. The Compendex Archive provides a comprehensive, historical view of engineering developments and innovations described in literature from 1884-1969. Access to current information in Compendex is available through Scopus. Inspec is a bibliographic database providing access to scientific literature in electrical engineering, electronics, physics, control engineering, information technology, communications, computers, computing, manufacturing and production engineering. The database contains over 13 million bibliographic records from scientific and technical journals and conference proceedings. Inspec's online coverage is from 1898 to the present, and records are updated weekly, with approximately 760,000 new records added to the database annually.

The Materials Business File covers industry news, product and process developments, plant development and construction, international trade data, government regulations, and management issues related to a number of industries. Begun in 1985 as an alerting service, the database now serves also as a historical business/industry reference. Sources covered include over 3,000 periodicals, conference proceedings, technical reports, trade journal/newsletter items, patents, books, and press releases. Major areas of subject coverage include recycling, health and safety issues, economics, alloy and material developments, company information, energy usage, fuel, raw materials, recycling, and more.

This database covers metals and alloys, including details on their properties, manufacturing, applications, and development. The collection contains almost 1.5 million references and is the database equivalent of Metals Abstracts, Metals Abstracts Index, and Alloys Index. Major areas of coverage include steel, strength, refining, casting, coatings, heat treatment, metal matrix composites, nonferrous metals, corrosion, extracting, smelting, blast furnaces, machining, welding, testing, analysis, environmental issues, and safety issues. The database is updated once a month, with approximately 45,000 new records added per year. There are nearly 8 million records in the collection in total, drawn from over 3,000 periodicals, conference proceedings, technical reports, trade journal/newsletter items, patents, books, and press releases.
