The collection centers around reference handbooks for chemists. It includes CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics, Combined Chemical Dictionary, Dictionary or Organic Compounds, specialized dictionaries, Properties of Organic Compounds and Polymers: A property Database. Note: The CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics is continuously updated. If you are having trouble finding information it may be in an earlier edition. Since 2013, our subscription to Compendex is limited to archive-only access (1884-1969).  Access to current information in Compendex may be available through Dimensions, Scopus, and/or Web of Science.  Compendex is a bibliographic database of engineering research which contains over ten million references and abstracts taken from over 6,000 scholarly journals, trade magazines, conference proceedings and technical papers. The subjects covered by this database include nuclear technology, bioengineering, transportation, chemical and process engineering, light and optical technology, agricultural engineering and food technology, computers and data processing, applied physics, electronics and communications, control, civil, mechanical, materials, petroleum, aerospace and automotive engineering as well as narrower subtopics within all these and other major engineering fields.

The Handbook of Chemistry and Physics is a widely used source of data for chemists, physicists, and professionals in related fields. The Handbook is updated annually, and contains information on topics relevant to Chemistry and Physics, such as Fluid Properties, Biochemistry, Polymer Properties, Practical Laboratory Data, Thermochemistry, Electrochemistry, Kinetics, Symbols, Terminology, and Nomenclature, as well as many others. The website displays a list of new and revised tables for the current edition, and provides access to tools that help search the Handbook and enhance its functionality.

Proquest's Engineering database provides unmatched coverage of specific disciplines such as Aircraft Design and Engineering, Arctic and Tropical Engineering, Automotive Design and Engineering, Civil Engineering for Air and Space Transportation, Electrical and Industrial Engineering, among others, spanning thousands of publications, many of them in full text.

This encyclopedia covers the properties, manufacturing, and uses of chemicals, as well as materials, processes, and engineering principles. Current research, emerging technologies, economic aspects, environmental impacts and health concerns are also addressed. The database contains over 1,000 articles, which are updated regularly, as well as archival content.

Proquest's Materials Science database covers metals and alloys, including details on their properties, manufacturing, applications, and development. The collection contains almost 1.5 million references and is the database equivalent of Metals Abstracts, Metals Abstracts Index, and Alloys Index. Major areas of coverage include steel, strength, refining, casting, coatings, heat treatment, metal matrix composites, nonferrous metals, corrosion, extracting, smelting, blast furnaces, machining, welding, testing, analysis, environmental issues, and safety issues. The database is updated once a month, with approximately 45,000 new records added per year. There are nearly 8 million records in the collection in total, drawn from over 3,000 periodicals, conference proceedings, technical reports, trade journal/newsletter items, patents, books, and press releases.

The Merck Index is an encyclopedia of chemicals, drugs, and biologicals that contains more than 10,000 monographs. Each monograph is a description of a single substance or a small group of closely related compounds. Monographs in the Merck Index typically contain CAS registry numbers, chemical formulas, molecular weights, compositions, structural formulas, descriptions of a substance's appearance, melting points and boiling points, citations to other literature regarding the compound's chemical synthesis, therapeutic categories (if applicable), and hazard information.

OSTI.GOV provides free access to over 3 million research citations and is regularly expanded through regular updates. The database includes scientific and technical research results in disciplines of interest to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), such as biology and medicine; chemistry; energy production, storage, conversion, and utilization; engineering; environmental sciences; fission and nuclear technologies; fossil fuels; geosciences; materials; mathematics and computing; national defense; physics; power generation and distribution; renewable energy , climatology, and oceanography. OSTI.GOV includes bibliographic citations to report literature, conference papers, journal articles, books, dissertations, and patents. There are over 445,000 full-text DOE-funded reports in the database.

Scopus is a large, abstract and citation database that is updated daily and offers access to 100+ million records including journal articles, conference papers, open access items, books, and book chapters. Scopus covers various subject disciplines including the sciences, social sciences, arts and humanities.

This database provides access to an index of world literature on toxicology, covering subjects such as chemicals, pharmaceuticals, pollutants, and more. Citations to journal articles, conference papers, technical reports and theses are included in the collection. Some of the material indexed in this database is owned by the University of Utah, primarily through the Eccles Library.
